Book Club #2

Book Group Two meets the first Thursday of the month from 1:30 – 3:00 p.m. at the Westport Center for Senior Activities.

Book Club #3

Book Group Three meets at 10:30 a.m. on the second Friday of the month at the Westport Center for Senior Activities. Members select books by consensus and discuss them at our meetings. We read fiction and nonfiction books, and the discussion is informal.

New members are welcome. If you’d like to join, email Doris Levinson at drjlevinson@gmail.com.

Carpool & Go

Carpool & Go is dedicated to exploring interesting and/or artistic venues usually within an hour’s drive from Westport (from Westchester to Hartford to Old Lyme, for example).

We travel by carpool and charge only what the Museum or special site charges for entrance and docent fees along with appropriate cash reimbursement for the drivers.

The trips are open to all Y’s Women members (no special membership required), and the dates and times of travel are dependent on when venues are open as well as trying to avoid conflict with other activities in our organization.

For more information, please contact Lydia Menendez at lydiamnndz12@gmail.com or Jill Meyer at jill@awayfortheday.net.

Solos

Solos provides a way for single Y’s Women to socialize and meet new friends. We try to meet once a month for an activity. We usually meet for lunch, brunch, or dinner at a restaurant.

During the summer, we meet at Compo Beach on Tuesdays, when Y’s Women can park at Compo Beach without a beach pass.

We meet from about 5:00 p.m. to whenever members want to leave. This time gives members a chance to socialize, enjoy the beach, and watch the sunset.

Annual dues are $20, and we welcome new members.

For more information, contact Terry Queirolo at tmq44@icloud.com.

Tai Ji

Instructor Ruby Shih is an experienced long-time Tai Ji/Qi Gong and Meditation teacher and a founder of a Tai Ji School in Manhattan (Nanlaoshu.org).

Ruby offers a Tai Ji class that meets weekly on Wednesdays from 9:30 -10:30 at the Saugatuck Congregational Church, 245 Post Road East, Westport, Room 109.

The class focuses on breath and slow movement for relaxation, grounding, and balance to enhance our physical and mental well-being.

A fee of $10 per session will be used to offset rental and insurance costs.

If you’re interested, please contact Ruby at rubypalace88@gmail.com or 917-816-6661.

Lunch and Trivia

The Lunch and Trivia group meets once each month to have lunch, socialize, and play a fun game of trivia.

The cost for each meeting is $25 (cash only).

Jewels of Westport

There are so many riches in Westport, we created THE JEWELS OF WESTPORT to visit one “facet” at a time.

Some of our Jewels include: Backstage tours of the Westport Country Playhouse, the art in our various public buildings such as Town Hall, special guided tours of MoCA and the Community Theater.

Westport has an endless supply of fascinating places to visit.

Let’s Meet for Lunch

Let’s Meet for Lunch is an informal group that gets together every few months at local restaurants to enjoy lunch and each other’s company.
